Long-distance move from Millersville, PA to Oviedo, FL

SCAM

This company is a scam! The company name registered with the DOT based on the DOT # I was provided is American Patriot Moving LLC; however, they operated under PowerPack Moving and Storage during my contact with them.

The broker PowerPack Moving and Storage failed to show up for my scheduled move. The date was supposed to be 11/9 or 11/10. On 11/10, I called PowerPack Moving and Storage several times to see when they would arrive however they failed to answer any calls. Finally at this point I needed to hire another company as I needed to leave my apartment by 11/10. After I scheduled another mover, PowerPack Moving and Storage called me back and I advised them that I had hired another mover as dispatch had failed to contact me. PowerPack Moving and Storage informed me they would refund my deposit of $596. After I arrived in Florida I contacted PowerPack Moving and Storage to receive a refund on my deposit for services not performed; however, the claim was denied after 2 weeks of the agent telling me the claim was with billing.

In summary, PowerPack Moving and Storage took my deposit, failed to provide the service, and finally failed to return the deposit.

Long-distance move from Palmdale, CA to Jasper, TN

Horrible Company

Our move more than doubled even though we shortened our inventory; movers put a hole in the wall at the first house and did not say anything; we were quoted 14 days, but did not receive our stuff for over a month; truck driver drove over our main water line and broke it, and the company did not want to take responsibility for it. In fact, they told us it was our fault for letting the truck on our property; boxes marked “fragile” were smashed and contents broken; broken pieces on our sleep number bed. This is just a few of the issues we have had. I sent my coordinator a 911 text the morning the truck delivered our stuff (Nov 3), today is Nov 18 and I still have NOT received a call from Benjamin with American Patriot Moving. Shameful customer service.

Long-distance move from Hartford, CT to Grand Rapids, MI

Good company and amazing job.

American Patriot did a really good move for me and my family .They gave us a quote and were very thorough and went through everything but also told us the best ways to save money on the move so we knew that they weren’t just trying to squeeze us for a bunch of extra money. Everything was packed well. The delivery arrived as scheduled and everything was assembled and unpacked with no damage. Great follow up call from office after delivery. They charged exactly as the estimate. Amazing job.

Never use this company.

Bad service from the beginning to the end. I called for a quote for a move out of state to one company. I received an email from American Patriot stating that they would price match the move. When I contacted them, I was told that the other moving company's rate was really low and they were going to charge me all these hidden fees so American Parriot would give me a reasonable price and not do that. I gave them my inventory list and received a price. I gave them a chance. Movers came. While I was talking to the foreman, my sister said she heard glass breaking in the basement.the other mover was in the basement. The other mover was the only person in the basement. When I came back in I asked the movers if they broke some glass. They said no. I then went into the back of the basement and saw my glass bowl in the garbage covered up with shirts I had sitting out to wash. The mover broke it, tried to clean it up, then lied about it. Called the Supervisor and his first question was how much did the vase cost? Not I'm sorry I have someone representing my company with an integrity issue. It gets worse but I know the longer this text is the fewer people will read it. In a nutshell, Eli the owner spoke to me about the payment I owed. Was told completely different options than when I booked. By the way, my inventory list was actually more than what was actually loaded and I was still charged an overage fee because I ran out of room from my estimate. They couldn't really explain why I had fewer pieces but was being charged more. When I told him about what I was told when it was booked he told me that wasn't his problem and he didn't really care what I was told. They had my furniture so I payed even though I didn't agree. Called the next day to see when I would get my delivery. Spoke with Xavier. He said he would call back. Never did. Called him again, no answer.Waited until sunday morning. Called again and there was no answer. Called Jerri Sunday morning and he answered, and told me that my furniture was still in chicago. I stated that I was told it would take 1 to 2 days and he said that's not what I was told I was told because of the covid 19 virus it would take a week. No way I was told that. No way would I agree to not have furniture for a week.Never received a call from jerri back. I did receive a call from daisy the next day saying she would be in charge of moving my furniture . I asked her when I should expect my furniture she said she didn't knowDaisy finally told me it would take about 7 days to deliver my furniture. I told her my furniture was already almost a week late and she said she would call me back. When she called me back she told me the latest my furniture would be here was monday. This was after Jerri told me my furniture would be here Thursday. Finally got my furniture 5 days after I was originally promised. Got the number for the claims department and was told I chose the free insurance plan so my claim would be worth 2 dollars because of the wait of the glass bowl. But Jerry did say that was a generous offer because it should have been worth two pounds but they pushed it up to 3. Don't use this company. The mover I had named devonte was very professional and so was Daisy. The other people that I delt with including Eli, Jerry, and the other person I originally booked with were untruthful and rude.

Never Use This Company.

American Patriot has proven to be an extremely unethical company. Located OUT OF FLORIDA, it seems the company is using licensing credentials from another company under the same name from TN. The never showed up for my move scheduled June 9/10(two day requested window). They attempted to lie & say that they showed up on move date. After proving their dishonesty, I was promised a refund of my deposit amount, $707. I am still waiting for the refund. Very rude, unethical, dishonest people. If you value INTEGRITY, do NOT use this company. People should not be faced with so much foolishness during something as daunting as relocating, especially during a global pandemic.

Horrible.

My furniture was picked up May 28th and it is now June 10th and I still don’t have it and nobody can tell me where my belongings are. Every time I speak to someone it’s always I’ll call u back. For my first long distance move this is the worst experience ever. I was told one price by Ben then as soon as the truck was loaded I got charged double the price. There is no empathy from anyone I spoke to showing concern. These people are worst than car salesmen honestly. I would not recommend to anyone ever!

Long-distance move from Indianapolis, IN to Albany, NY

Fraud!!

I had high hopes for these guys, I really did. But they managed to dissappoint me even more than my first bad interstate moving experience, and for more almost 30% more money for half the distance too!

Scott Davis the rep talks a smooth talk, makes you feel at ease, like maybe these guys are different from all the other crappy movers out there, but NOPE! He promised set pickup and dropoff dates so I would book the job. Then they subcontracted my move and the guys who were supposed to pick us up were running a day late. Because I made a fuss (we had to leave the apt that day) they subcontracted our move to another last minute company (and didn’t tell us that’s what happened, we pieced it together after the fact).

Those last minute subcontract guys..named “moving-services” (they don’t even have a proper name!) are shady as hell..they charged us a ton of money and refused to have our stuff en route until we paid them and signed forms saying we wouldn’t dispute the charges. The customer service person Tina Brown was extremely rude. Their pickup crew was super slow and dropped a box and sat around and tried to get cash out of us.I was seriously worried about our stuff so the next day I emailed American Patriot, texted Scott, and called them multiple times and no one ever answered me or got back to me. They literally specifically avoided me. And I was trying to ask for help with a mover THEY contracted to us.

The shady mover’s drop off crew lied and said we had another 400-500$ charge we had to pay (the customer service person confirmed our account was all set) and then got to our home and refused to move our stuff up unless we paid. They finally started moving our stuff when my husband told them to just leave our stuff on the lawn and he’d move it himself..they did their f-ing job on the condition my husband helped them! So we paid a ton of money AND my husband also worked as a mover. I was seriously afraid for our safety.

We got our stuff, minus the iMAC and Xbox..as far as I can tell..I suspect the pickup crew. So yeah. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but: DON’T MOVE WITH ANY MOVING COMPANY.

Long-distance move from Iowa City, IA to Detroit, MI

Move.

A contract was signed with Am. Patriot Movers to move my studio apt. To be short, I would never use them again. As a broker all they want is the upfront money, they pass off the work then left me to fend for myself. The actual movers were 3 days late on the scheduled pickup, and it took 5 weeks to get a little over 300 ftsq. of belonging moved just under 500 miles. When another broker/mover has your stuff, you have no idea when it will be delivered, they just said you have to call them, not us. The original bid was and estimate, they due to the underestimated sq ft. of material the cost went up. They tell you this after your stuff is loaded and will not move it or unload it unless they get paid. There has to be better options, I will just use a U-hual next time.

Phenomenal Move!

The moving coordinator Ben was the first person I made contact with for my move. He was phenomenal. He is patient and extremely professional. I called several times for various reasons and he had an answer or a solution for some of the complications of my move. The move itself was amazing! The crew were very professional taking the time to wrap the furniture and were extremely careful moving the furniture inside the truck. All of my furniture and boxes arrived undamaged and the team did not leave until I was satisfied with the job. It was my first time using a moving company, & I will definitely call them again!
